Just the beginning of the year! And I am suffocating with down-right stress, homework, pressure and especially projects! There's civic, history, geography and sadly, arts. I suck in arts and will never excel in it, next year, I am so not going to take arts, ever!

During this hols, yea a week off from school, I guess it was great and all. But I just hate having the thought that I will have to go back to school on Monday! Facing all the teachers and homework...as there's an important exam to sit this year. Sigh...

I guess, slacking around, watching tv, playing computer, helping evil-empire with their broken links and reading fanfics that I've missed made up most of my time. I hardly touched my books, and there will be assessment papers awaiting for me to sit once I am back in school. School sucks, and I can even imagine that life sucks even more when I get a job or something....

Currently I am a huge fan of mangas that took place in medieval times and in China. Well I am a Chinese as well, so I am not really surprised with my liking towards it. But the sad thing is that, I've taken in liking only two of the mangas they relates to the setting. So I'm really disappointed about it. Those two are Real Fake Princess and Saiunkoku Monogatari.

Here's a brief introduction and synopsis of the mentioned titles:

Real Fake Princess

Manhwaga:  Yi Huan
Genre: Shoujo, Romance
Scanlator: Vampire Knight
Synopsis: The princess was hidden during the war to protect her life... Years have passed and now the emperor, who wants to find her, has assigned an ambassador [ex-general] to attend to the task. My opinion: Its relatively a good manhwa and a very meaningful one. Jealousy is a rather obvious subject in the manhwa somehow. Although the girl, Zhi Li is somewhat childish and temperamental, you'll find her lovable in a way. Some people may not like her attitude though. But I'll give it a 4/5 for its rating.

Saiunkoku Monogatari

Mangaka: Yura Kairi & Yukino Sai (Author)
Genre:  Josei; historical fantasy, romance, comedy
Scanlator: Vampire Knight
Synopsis:  Based on a josei novel. The setting is a fantasy version of medieval China, called Saiunkoku or "Land of Many-Colored Clouds." The heroine Shuuri is the daughter of a high-born family that has become poor. She plays the erhu and earns money for the family, but is frustrated by their poverty. One day she is invited to the palace to be a tutor to the new young king. Beautiful young men in elegant robes abound. The female lead is a rare one, beauty and brains (makes greats buns too!)
She seems to be a kind person that possess a great deal inner virtue. (taken from Baka-updates)

My opinion: Its one of my favourites! It really has a great character portrayal and it really touched my heart. The heroine is a real female character who I really respect. Although its a manga, it wouldn't be be wrong to fancy her character portrayal, ne? I would rate it a 5/5. Lol...it would be too much...but I really love it! XD

After reading numerous books, I've found out that some of them totally sucked or probably the best ever.

So...I am having some sort of poll of authors and their books. Those who have read some of the books or all of them...leave a comment. I would like to know the readers' opinions either on the books or the writers. :D

I've just finished reading the Black Magician's Triology written by Trudi Canavan. And its highly recommendable to those who LOVES fantasy and alternate universe books. But somehow I just can't shake off the feeling of dissapointment with Trudi Canavan's decision to have such an ending. Sigh...feel like reeditiing the story and have HIM to be alive....

This is officially my personal journal. My daily trauma or 'drama' will be posted at times. Frustration runs through my blood at all times, so I will be ranting and ranting on my misfortune and whatsoever.
